2023 Resources Industry Charity Sundowner raises $243,000

Topdrill, with the support of attendees at this year’s Resources Industry Charity Sundowner has raised more than $243,000 at its Kalgoorlie headquarters on Sunday, 6 August, to kick off the Diggers and Dealers Mining Forum.

The 2023 sundowner was in support of two charities: the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS WA) and Full Circle Therapies, a Goldfields-based paediatric allied health services organization.

It takes the total raised over four years of the event to an incredible $630,000 donated to non-profit charities vital in the Goldfields.

Funds raised will help support RFDS’ vital aeromedical services in the Goldfields. In 2022, the RFDS transferred 1,506 patients from the Goldfields region, an average of four per day.

Full Circle Therapies will use the donation to help attract and retain allied health practitioners, ensuring that regional children have access to therapy, which sadly is unavailable in the Goldfields currently.

Over 350 guests attended the event, which was a night of live music, gourmet canapes and an exciting high-roller auction. Prizes included a diamond necklace, vintage wine, tickets to Coldplay’s only Australian concert and a 4-night cruise on board the Kimberley Quest, including flights to Broome.

RFDS WA CEO Judith Barker says the Kalgoorlie community is generous to RFDS all year, but a particular thanks must go to the resources community which supports this annual event.

“Each year Topdrill amazes us by making the event bigger and better,” Ms Barker said.
“Our sincere thanks goes to the Topdrill team and all their guests for digging deep and supporting the care that RFDS provides in the Goldfields region.”

“this year’s event was outstanding, not only to welcome delegates from across Australia at our state-of-the-art Headquarters in Kalgoorlie, but the opportunity to host an event that supports two vital services in our Goldfields.  Getting stuck in to support charities that support our Goldfields community is what Topdrill is all about."

Topdrill Managing Director and Founder Tim Topham

Full Circle Chairperson Luke Bowler said “What an amazing outcome, to raise $243,000 in 3 hours just shows the generosity & the impact that having Diggers & Dealers in Kalgoorlie has in our community. The Board & Staff of Full Circle Therapies can’t thank Angela, Tim & the Topdrill team enough for putting this amazing event on, the countless man hours of work & meetings behind the scenes have paid off & is a credit to you all. The monies raised will go straight towards our retention strategic plan to keep and bring more Allied Health professionals into Kalgoorlie, to provide critical early intervention therapy for kids on our growing waitlist & also help in the upcoming construction of Mason's House.”

Angela and I would like to sincerely thank the Topdrill team for all their support and thank everyone that attended for your kindness and generosity.
